Barça Set to Play First Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league 30 months since relocating to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium earlier this month. They mentioned they were hoping for permission by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht on 9 December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
