Emma Raducanu ends the current season and has decided to continue with coach into the 2026 season.
Emma Raducanu reached the third round in three of the four major tournaments in the current campaign.
Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her remaining competitions this season because of a health issue that has affected her for the last week and a half.
The 22-year-old was due to play in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to recover prior to beginning next year's training.
Those preparations will include trainer Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together again next season.
She underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match versus Ann Li in Wuhan and retired when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.
She needed once more medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.
Raducanu was also moving noticeably restricted in the third set versus Zhu due to back discomfort that has troubled her during parts of the season.
Those results followed a positive campaign, in which she climbed into the top 30 globally after more than three years since her previous ranking, finished with a trio of defeats.
The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to Jessica Pegula in the third stage in the Beijing tournament last month.
Raducanu won 28 victories in the current season and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami event in March.
Ranked first in Britain made the last eight of this WTA 1000 tournament, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route before losing in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.
She worked with trainer Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.
The initial agreement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the partnership will continue, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.
Raducanu told that the trial session with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.
She came very close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati during August.
Roig joined her in New York, where she reached the third round then falling to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
