Former Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have announced that a ex- physician stands accused of performing sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
The Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

The charging documents outline the forty-five sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
