Iran Reports Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing assault against it by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any damage is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on locations associated with the the regime, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.
Officials reported missile fragments fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
